Tritz Only GIves Up Three Hits on the Mound = Win For Cats

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks fell to the Bobcats today in Bobcat territory, when the Bobcats 10 run ruled the Lumberjacks in the 7th inning. The Bobcats are now 8-3 in the SLC while the Lumberjacks fall to 2-8.

The Bobcats offense did not waste anytime and scored one run in the 1st inning with Bret Atwood hitting a double into left field and an RBI single from Paul Goldschmidt. The Bobcats were able to score 4 runs at the bottom of the second inning and 2 at the bottom of the 3rd. Bobcat Kyle Livingstone hit his first home run in his Bobcat career to left field giving Bobcat fans some excitement at the bottom of the 3rd. The only inning the Bobcats did not score was the bottom of the fourth.

The Lumberjack offense was no match for Bobcat pitcher Zach Tritz. Lumberjacks Justin Long, Brian Ferguson, and Jarid Scarafiotti were the only players who were able to make a hit off of Tritz. Lumberjack pitcher Erich Lehmann started off for the Lumberjacks pitching two innings but allowing 5 runs from 6 hits and 5 walks. Jermey Tamez replaced Lehmann but only pitched 1 inning after allowing 2 runs from 2 hits. Jason West then took over the game pitching two innings allowing 2 runs from 3 hits but did not walk a Bobcat. Ryan Priest finished out the game for the Lumberjacks by pitching 1 innings and going 1 for 1.

The Lumberjack pitching once again did not meet it's much talked about hype but the Bobcat offense did. The short 7 inning game improved the Bobcats record and gave Zach Tritz the win for the game. The Bobcats are expected to close out the 3 game series tomorrow afternoon with the first pitch starting at 1 p.m.
