Bobcats Beat Panhandle State in Strahan

The Texas State men's basketball team closed out their non-conference with a 69-57 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State Tuesdays night at Strahan Coliseum. Cameron Johnson scored 12 points and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds to lead the Bobcats over the Aggies. Marcale Marshall lead the Aggies with 17 points with Reggie Lassister adding 12 points and Kevin Geofroy netted 11 for the Aggies, who fell to 4-8 this season.

In a game that featured four first-half lead changes and three ties, the Bobcats used a home-court advantage and a few keys plays to take a 34-23 lead to the half-time locker room. One such key play came when Ryan White stole the ball and hit a three-pointer just before the half. In the end Johnson was one of three Bobcats to score in double figures as Jonathan Sloan had 10 points and Uriel Segura came off the bench to net 10 as well. In addition, Dylan Hale and Emmanuel Bidias A' Moute netted eight points each.

With the win Texas State moves to 6-8 on the season. The Bobcats open Southland Conference ply Saturday when they travel to Arlington to take on UT Arlington at Texas Hall at 1 p.m.
